Day 4 – Agadir to Dakhla, Western Sahara

Day 4 and we depart Agadir Morocco into clear blue skies. We expect that for the rest of the trip I hope. 2 hrs down the coast into the Western Sahara. We passed over a little oasis and a huge flock of pink Flamingos but unfortunately I could not get my camera on in time. It’s really cool to see them from a few hundred feet above just like on television but live. Sure we’ll see more. A quick fuel stop in El Aaiun before we continue on to Dakhla for the night. Dakhla is in a very remote place but is famous for kite surfing. The bay that we passed over on our approach into town had about a dozen people kite-surfing. We understood why when we landed. A steady 15 knot wind from the north. Perfect for kite-surfing and wind-surfing but not really that good for doing helicopter maintenance but that’s part of the adventure for sure. Our Captain has pre-booked all of our hotels and so far he gets a gold star. Tonight’s is on the beach in Dakhla. Fabulous. Tomorrow on to Dakar Senegal. Always wanted to go there. Enjoy the pictures.

Wow Grant, we have been riding along with you (by the seat of our pants), you do not appear to stop long enough for us to do any shopping but we are enjoying all of the views.
What an experience for you (and for us through you) we are seeing sights that we will not see in our life time (unless we win a lotto and cruise around).
We have friends who have traveled many places by cruising but will go again in January for six months this time.
You are fortunate to be able to not only enjoy your work but to visit so many places, keep safe, take care love from us.
