Day 3 – Spain to Morocco

Day 3 and we departed the island of Ibiza under beautiful clear skies. 100 miles over water while we crossed to the Spanish coast to continue our journey west towards the Straits of Gibraltar with a fuel and pee stop in Almeria Spain. A little maintenance, full fuel and back on our way along the coast. So far the weather has been perfect and we were hoping it would hold but alas, the Straits of Gibraltar was a mess and Morocco had lots of rain and thunderstorms waiting for us. We are having a great time and seeing some amazing scenery. Absolutely have to come back to Spain.

After passing the rock of Gibraltar which was barely visible, it was on to Tangiers Morocco for another fuel stop and then a 2 hour leg to Casablanca and another 1 ½ hrs to Agadir Morocco for the night. Today was our biggest flying day. 4 legs for a total of about 6 ½ flight hours. This is not a big helicopter to be cooped up in for that long. Now I need a beer and fortunately our Captain has booked us into a great hotel in Agadir. The Tikida Golf Palace  is gorgeous so we’ll call it a night. Until tomorrow, enjoy the photos
