the bed blog

So often we hear people say “home sweet home” and glad to sleep in their own bed. I’m here to tell you that there are many great beds out there. We don’t even sleep on the same sides night after night, so there is no “my side of the bed”. I know that wouldn’t work for everyone but it works for us!

We have slept in 58 different beds this year. Jikky + Mike’s / Mom’s / E + A’s / Lance + Liz’s / Rudy + Jo’s / Executive Inn Richmond / Manning / Novatel Bangkok / OTC Nakhon, Thailand /BP Samila Songkla, Thailand / Lone Pine Hotel, Penang, Malaysia / Tune Hotel,  Angeles, Philippines / MV Moken, Philippines / Midas Hotel, Manila / Concord Inn @ KLIA 2 single beds / Garden Hotel, Vientiane, Laos, / Villa Somphong, Luang Prabang, Laos /Pack Luck Villa Guesthouse, Luang Prabang, Laos / Hyatt Seoul Airport / Sheridan Richmond Airport room 866 / Les + Jacquie’s / Dallas Marriott / Real Intercontinental Managua room 617 / Cindy’s /Blodwyn’s / Mike + Tracy’s (Logan) / Sheridan Richmond room 579 / San Juan Del Sur Chayeau / M & J’s Bowyer Island / Wapato, Washington / Waitsburg, Washington /Dwight + Glennis’s / Chalet in the Rockies, Fairmont Hot Springs / Tree Tops B &B, Banff, # 35 /  Jo + Scott’s / Mom Betty’s / Wendy + Russell’s / Jeannine’s / Luna Sea / Pat + Colette’s / TCC room 1009 / TCC room 1103 / Sheridan # 790 Richmond / Wayak Hotel, Managua room Asososca / El Bluff / Wayak  Hotel room ? / Hellen’s house / Guayaquil Marriott Courtyard #827 /Salinas condo / Casa Gardenia Quito room 3 / Casa Gardenia Quito room 9 / Guayaquil Marriott Courtyard #810 / Real Intercontinental Managua room 327 / Logan’s new bed / Sean & Lana’s / # 56 Fairmont YVR Airport room 905 / Intercontinental Managua room 601 and finally room 407 for 3 weeks.

Good Idea, never thought about taking photos of my bed before. Found a site called travel buddies
paid the 1.00 US. Now I can’t figure out how to log on… F—-king tech…shit.

    • I checked out the site and you should just enter your user name or email address and password. Find some 9 year old to help you. They seem to just “get it”!

I did not count 58 beds, are some still to come? Just joking, one of the beds looked a bit short for tall people – maybe an optical illusion wide yes long no!

I asked Santa to deliver a card wishing you both a great Christmas and all the best in the New Year, but he said hs was not privy to where you might be so he will do his best but this is one wish he could not promise he would deliver on – so just in case you don’t get it from him. You have it now.

Love from the old ones (Kenn and Sunny)

    • Hahahaha well we didn’t take a picture of every one of them! And to be noted is we didn’t count repeated bed sleeps! Thank you for the Christmas greetings. We’ll be here in Managua. Grant will likely work a few hours that day and I think we’ll be going to friends for dinner. It will be really nice to have a home cooked Christmas dinner!
On January 1st it’s time for 6 weeks off again and we plan to spend it in Florida and Louisiana. Looking forward to lots of gumbo! Hi to the family. xo

  3. I love this post!
I guess you can do “favorite bed” list next time. After travelling so much, I’m sure you’ll start to develop preferences, or am I wrong? 🙂
