a day in Cassis

We took a day trip with Grant’s school mates (a real nice bunch of guys) to the ancient fishing port of Cassis which is east of Marseille. It is famous for it’s cliffs and inlets.

A beautiful old chateau-fort, the 1381 Chateaux de la Maison des Baux, overlooks the harbour, but it’s privately owned and closed to the public.

Fishing boats share the harbour with yachts and the street is lined with restaurants.

Balcony of the Cote d’Azur. The view was amazing but it was really windy and cold.
